For me that current has always moved in one direction. Toward art. Toward design. Toward objects of genuine beauty.
What began as an instinct for beautiful rooms eventually narrowed inward, from the scale of the space to the intimacy of the objects within it. A quiet obsession formed around natural stone. Around marble specifically, not as material but as something closer to sculpture. The movement of veining. The rarity of a single slab. The idea that something formed over millions of years could be held in the hand.
That obsession gave rise to a question. Why are the objects we reach for each day not made from materials worthy of the gesture?
That question became MRBL.
MRBL is a collection of objects in marble. The Marble Hairbrush is the first. A study in elevated everyday living, in the belief that the items we touch everyday are meant to be left out and should be as considered as the spaces that surround them.
